ESTABLISHING CONTACT
IGP works actively with management teams, business owners, investment bankers, business brokers, banks, consultants, turnaround specialists and attorneys to find investment opportunities. We enjoy excellent and mutually rewarding relationships with our intermediaries and work hard to be responsive and confidential. Investment opportunities that might be of interest to IGP should be forwarded to Michelle Blasius in our San Francisco offices.
INITIAL REVIEW & DUE DILIGENCE
Shortly after reviewing the descriptive information or speaking with management, we would typically arrange a visit to the company to view its operations first hand and meet management. Thereafter, IGP would complete its due diligence process, which is designed to be streamlined and non-disruptive, and typically covers areas such as management, business operations, industry, legal, accounting, tax and environmental. The firm has long-standing relationships with various third-party experts in these areas and engages these experts where appropriate. When feasible, much of IGP's due diligence can be conducted off-site if necessary.
DECISION-MAKING:
IGP has a streamlined decision-making process as a result of the small size and uncomplicated structure of the partnership. Discretion over the investment of capital resides in the Partners of the firm, who have worked together for over thirteen years. This allows for rapid and direct decision-making and greatly facilitates interaction with management teams.
POST-INVESTMENT INVOLVMENT:
Management teams are expected to maintain their independence and to remain in control of day-to-day operations. Open lines of communication are encouraged. IGP's role is highly collaborative and strategic in nature - facilitating, wherever possible, management's efforts to build value in a business. Aside from capital, IGP brings to its companies an unparalleled pool of investment, corporate finance, strategic planning and general management expertise.
